The Michael St Aubyn Legacy
A rare and inspiring talent
Michael St Aubyn – Mike, to all those who knew him well – was a rare individual.
The founder of our business, which he set up in collaboration with Michael Taylor as Taylor St Aubyn in 1995, he was educated at Eton and Cirencester College, where he took a degree in Estate Management.
His ideas about personal service, attention to detail and value for money found their rightful place in the Taylor St Aubyn business, where they were complemented by his gregarious, generous nature.
As a keen polo player – he had a handicap of three – he was both an accomplished sportsman and a successful insurance executive. His untimely death in 2002, at the age of 43, was a terrible blow to his family – in particular to his wife Astrid (née Lumley) and their three children, Tom, Matilda and Isabella – and a great loss for everyone at Taylor St Aubyn.
His ideas still inform our business activities today, while his memory inspires us day-by-day.
